About us

Sussex Community NHS Charity is the official charity of the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT).

Our mission

We support the work of the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust and its people to deliver the vision of excellent care at the heart of the community.

Our aim is to give people choice about the care they receive and to enhance patient welfare and support our staff. Whenever and wherever people need us, we will meet their needs with high quality services that are safe, effective, compassionate and respectful.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our communities, who raise and donate vital funds, we are able to provide grants for equipment, programmes or services that can't be funded by the core NHS budget.

Through our active grant-making programmes, the charity aims to:

  • improve patient welfare, for example through clinical innovation, advanced technologies, facility upgrades, medical research and art and design programmes
  • support the Trust's staff and volunteers through advanced training and development programmes and recognition schemes
  • create patient-friendly care environments and enhanced staff experience through improvements to physical spaces

Rosie Gratwick

Charity Manager

Rosie joined the Trust in 2019 as our Charity Manager, having previously worked in the Fundraising Team at a Sussex-based HIV charity, specialising in challenge and mass participation events to raise charitable income.

Rosie has a Degree in Law and a Master's Degree in Human Rights, completing her Masters dissertation on the impact of human rights on the HIV pandemic, and the right to accessible healthcare. Rosie now leads our charity, fundraising to ensure our community has access to excellent healthcare whenever they need it.

In her spare time, Rosie enjoys adventures with her family, practicing yoga and writing for her women's wellness blog.

Lucy Beaumont, Partnerships Officer

Lucy Beaumont

Partnerships Officer

Lucy is our Corporate Partnership Officer and has been with us since 2022, having previously worked within Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust supporting the Chief Financial Officer.

Armed with a Degree in Business, Lucy's role involves building the charity's relationships with businesses and individuals, identifying the best opportunities and events for sponsorship, and building purposeful partnerships. Lucy says the most gratifying part of her role is hearing the positive feedback from teams benefiting from funded projects, whether it's improved medical equipment or renovated wellbeing spaces.

Outside of work, Lucy is a keen traveller and she enjoys spending time testing new recipes in the kitchen.
